“Dr. Dakshit's ability to teach in an engaging manner is impressive and is far and away beyond any other I’ve experienced in my college experience. But it is somehow dwarfed in comparison by his ability to inspire and motivate students. Dr. Dakshit's passion for technology, innovation and research and his mission to distill them into students goes beyond any other professor that I have seen here or elsewhere. Lose this man and UT-Tyler students will suffer. But keep him from reaching the rest of the world and we all suffer.”
“I had a good semester, and thanks for all your feedback with our capstone project and advice on personal projects as well.”
“I would happily go back to school just to be a part of Dr. Dakshit's capstone course! Excellent work this semester.”
“I have recently used the information you taught in your database class in my job as a Software Dev, part of the job was/is to create a database using mongoDB for the application we are building and thanks to this class I was able to understand and have understanding of how to structure the schema and how to create DB that is not redundant in its implementation. The class helped me get an idea of what I needed to build and also a lot of the lingo that is used in Database systems. Thank you for your class!”
“I would love to talk about how your class gave me an opportunity to create a more successful resume and allowed me to have the chance to get an interview. Prof. Dakshit's class this fall, COSC 4375 Capstone Project, gave me an opportunity to take a project I worked on and create an invaluable addition to my resume. As the semester was coming to a close, I rewrote my resume to include the project I worked on where we created a machine learning algorithm to detect vegetables being placed on a sandwich to create a virtual receipt of a Subway order. After writing a paragraph or so about this project detailing the software used and how the model will work I reuploaded my resume to Linkedin. Within a few days I was contacted by a recruiter who had a job offer for me and a few days after that, I was hired for a position as a Jr. Data Analyst at Evernorth Health Services the week after I finished my classes. Thank you very much for the wonderful class this semester, you and the project have helped me immensely on the next path of my career.”
“Probably one of the best professors I have had. He is always willing to work with you and his lectures are great! Would not change a thing”
“Dr. Sagnik was very helpful for the class as well as things outside of class such as resume advice and help.”
